Understand that your company is going to tell you that you just need to recruit 2 and make them recruit 2 more and you’ll be fine. Forget that. I have never met a top earner or a successful network marketer who had recruited less than 50.
The first powerful tip to MLM success is to understand that you have to recruit at least 50-100 people over the course of your career. Only if you do that will you find a couple of rock stars, kings, and queens who will bring in the maximum business.
You cannot expect to find a leader if you just aim to recruit 4 people. If you rely on that, the odds are stacked heavily against you. You want to know how to be successful in network marketing? Focus on recruiting as many people as you possibly can! Period.
2. Find a network marketing company that you love
Half of success in MLM business depends upon your choice of product and company. If you don’t love the product you’re marketing, you’ll lose hope and give up at the first bump in the road. But if you fall in love head over heels with the product, guess what happens?
You’re going to talk about it and promote it no matter what. You’ll not grow tired of telling people how AWESOME it is, right? So that is integral to finding success in network marketing.
But not only the product, find a company that you love. If you don’t like the company you’re involved with, don’t trust their vision, and don’t like their culture, how will you find it in yourself to promote it? When you love the product and love the company, there is no stopping you from building massive success in network marketing.
3. Be genuine and ethical if you want to be successful in network marketing
NEVER do something that is unethical, immoral or wrong when you’re recruiting. If you do that, your success in network marketing will be built on weak foundations conceived of ill-doings, and that will make you have a guilty conscious.
Sooner or later, you’re going to regret that. And guess what happens to a building built on weak foundations? It crumbles to pieces.
Always be genuine and ethical in the MLM business. This will foster trust between you and your prospects and will bring you closer to people. And we all know that trust is the most valuable commodity in any business, and so, it is absolutely essential to have for long-term success in network marketing.
Do trustworthy things even if they don’t make you enough money, it will pay off massively in the long-term.
4. Don’t barrage your friends and family
There is a distinct difference between barraging someone to buy your product and marketing it, and learning this distinction is necessary to be good at network marketing.
Nobody likes it when you bombard them with information, ask annoying questions or try to sell something whenever you see them, least of all your friends and family. Not everyone will be interested in what you’re trying to sell. You cannot understand the needs of everybody, so why waste your time doing that?
Instead, find your target audience. You have to narrow your radar to a chunk of people who are most likely to find your product useful, study them comprehensively and know what their pains and problems are and what are their problems. Once you know your target audience, market your product to them.
Remember these words and make them your mantra: Find your target audience, study them well and THEN market your product only to them.
The most eyes on the presentation usually win. Talk about your product or opportunities on a daily basis. The more you share your product, the more are your chances that people will get interested in it. That’s how to be successful in network marketing!
6. Find your ‘Why’
Find out why are you in the MLM business? Understand that MLM success largely depends on your ‘why’. Let it not be about the money alone, realize what you need the money for.
Whether it be to send your kids to college or to give your wife the life she deserves. When you know what’s at stake and why are you doing it, you’ll find ways and know how to be successful in network marketing.
7. Pick one strategy and stick to it
The Internet is filled with amazing resources and courses you can use to educate yourself, but more often than that, it overwhelms people rather than helping them. Understand that all these resources and all these strategies work.

If you’re not sure about which resource to pick, that is the one for you. But whatever you do, pick one strategy and just do it.
8. Educate yourself to find success in MLM
‘In this world, you‘re either growing or you‘re dying, so get in motion and grow.’
Educate yourself. Learn something every day. Read books. Listen to podcasts. Take a course and follow it to the core. Educate yourself on how to be successful in network marketing and then apply this knowledge smartly.
9. Provide value to your team and everybody else
Provide value to everyone you come in contact with; be it by making them feel better, helping them with something or just lending an ear to listen. People will always remember you for it.
If there’s one network marketing advice that can make your life spiritually and financially better, it’s this. Always provide value! That’s what I tell everyone who asks me how to be successful in network marketing.
10. Take responsibility for sponsoring reps
Don’t be just another clueless sponsor who’s always wondering how to be successful in MLM without taking responsibility for his team. It’s fine if you have some people in your network that are lazy or just won’t budge, but you have to take responsibility for the ones who have potential. You have to become inspirational by taking action yourself. It will take your success in MLM business to the next level and will also teach your team how to be successful in network marketing so they can crush it too!
11. Set proper expectations for your MLM success
Expectations either make us happy or sad. Set realistic expectations for yourself, the ones you CAN meet. If you’re starting out, don’t just set your goal to reach 10k a month in the first few month. Chances of that happening are slim and if it won’t, you’ll be beating yourself up needlessly and it will lead you to quit the business altogether!
Instead, set small expectations for yourself first, and when you meet these, grow them gradually. Don’t pressure yourself by setting unrealistically huge expectations, and then end up defeated, thinking you don’t know how to be successful in network marketing. Take it one step at a time and gradually move up.
12. Hot market candidates
Make a list of the people in your market that you like, trust and admire. Then set your expectation to just recruit them whether or not you enroll them. Don’t bother about what will happen next, just set your goal to recruit them as well as you possibly can.
Prep yourself for it and try to do everything right and call them. At least test your skills on your best people. This will be monumental to building up your confidence and every time you do this, you’ll learn how to be successful in network marketing in a different way.
13. Master self-control
A large part of network marketing success depends upon how good are you at self-control. This is a skill that is absolutely essential if you want to achieve anything worthwhile.
The grass always looks greener on the other side. Every company is going to look better to you when you’re having a difficult time. Stop jumping companies the moment you hit a bump in the road. Take it from someone who has jumped 11 different companies before realizing that this approach leads nowhere.
Don’t jump ship because it is hard. The only case where you change your company is if you don’t love the product or company, or you need new leadership. In that case, you must. But if you love the company and have great leaders within it, just keep your head down and power through the bumpy road – your company and its leadership will see your commitment and show you exactly how to be successful in network marketing
15. Walk around confidently
Be confident. Stop fighting for approval from people. Just keep doing your own thing and know that God put you down here because he loves you and he approves of you. Fill yourself with confidence and walk around knowing that you don’t have to be afraid of anyone or anything.
You have the ability to influence people and make life better for yourself and the people you touch. If you don’t have confidence, nobody will listen to you ever. When you walk around with confidence, it puts you in a mindset to achieve great success in MLM and other walks of life.
16. Set a presentation goal
Try to put the maximum number of people in front of your presentation. Set a goal for it. The more people you put in front of the presentation, the greater chance of your success in network marketing.
It is directly related because you can control what they see in the presentation, and when more and more people see the presentation, it works wonders for your MLM success!
Bonus: Don’t get emotionally tied to your prospects
One of the greatest marketing strategies for success is to never get emotionally tied to your prospects. You’re just the messenger. You’re just showing them an opportunity which they could either accept or refuse, that’s up to them, and it doesn’t have anything to do with you.
Never let a NO go to your heart and feel emotionally tied to the one you’re recruiting. Your job is to tell them about an amazing opportunity, and that’s that.
If you want to know how to achieve multi level marketing success, you have to understand that sponsoring is way different than recruiting. Don’t recruit, sponsor people.
Sponsoring means that when you bring someone onboard, you show them how to get started, how to do things right and how to climb the ladder to achieve success in MLM. It’s not the same as recruiting. Understand this crucial difference and apply it to grab your destined success in network marketing.
18. Listen…
The biggest of MLM tips I can give you is to LISTEN. Listen to your prospects, your sponsors, and their problems. Listen to them share their problems and then provide them with solutions. This is how to make a network marketing business work for yourself and your team.
If your prospect tells you that they’re not getting enough time to spend with their family, or they want to lose but can’t find the right product or whatsoever, you listen to them and then try to come up with a solution for them. And when you tell them that you’ve got a solution and whether they’d be willing to look at it, they will want to, every single time.
19. Learn how to market your business
Marketing is the name of the game when you’re shooting for success in network marketing. You have to learn how to make yourself more attractive and desirable in the marketplace.
If you want to reach the top, achieve a massive success in MLM, you absolutely have to learn to market yourself and your products. Every successful business grows on the shoulders of a strong marketing strategy, and if you want to be a professional inside of network marketing, you have to learn to market too.
20. Stand out from the crowd
Be different. Be someone who lifts people up instead of drifting them away, have people’s backs, provide value to them, bring them solutions, and SPONSOR them. Be genuine.
Never forget your own unique flavor. People subconsciously realize when you are being a copycat, and nobody loves a copycat. Stand out from the crowd; you’ll recruit more people and retain them.
21. Develop a system
This is tremendously important for a sustainable success in network marketing. You cannot survive in this business if you don’t develop a system which helps you keep on track, helps you follow up on your prospects and helps you consistently follow your strategy.
I have a system which reminds me to follow up on my prospects. It does that without fail. And because most people forget about their prospects after 2 exposures, I have better chances of recruiting my prospects when I get more and more exposures. So develop a system and leverage it to succeed in MLM. This is one of the best-kept network marketing success secrets.
22. Be coachable
‘He who cannot be a good follower cannot be a good leader.’
Be coachable if you want to become a great leader. Listen. Understand. Follow what your mentor tells you, follow what I tell you, and you’ll inevitably become a great leader.
23. Develop your dreams
If you could have anything on Earth, what would it be? What are your dreams? What do you want more than anything else in the world?
Look inside yourself and develop your dreams. No matter how inconceivably hard they are, how impossible they seem, you have to keep them on the forefront if you want to MLM success.
If you know your dreams and have a desire to make them true, you’ll learn how to be successful in network marketing no matter what!
24. Work Hard!
I feel like no one says this enough. This is by far the single greatest trait that can set you up for success in network marketing business. If you want to achieve something worthy of having, you have to work hard! So learn how to be successful in network marketing and work your hardest to crush it out there!
25. Consistency defines your MLM success
Consistency is the defining trait of any kick-ass network marketer you’ll meet. You have to be consistent in recruiting 1 or 2 or 3 people every day, showing presentations every day, helping people grow every day.
Consistency is the act of doing something every day even when the sexiness has worn off. Day in and day out, that’s what success is made up of.
26. Persistence will outlast talent every time
President Calvin Coolidge put it best:
“Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
When everything and everyone fails, it is the persistent ones that win the race. Persistence is the only thing that can guarantee your success in MLM without a doubt.
27. Make as many friends as possible
Get great at making friends. Make new friends everywhere you go. These friendships will help you expand your team, they will help you take your network marketing business to the next level.
Be a great friend. Be there for your friends, listen to them, and be there when they need you. If you want to get better at making friends, read the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie.
28. Have a great attitude
People will not join you if they’re not having fun. And they won’t have fun if you don’t have a great attitude. Never let your temper or your frustrations get in the way and ruin everything you’ve worked so hard for.
Always have a great attitude and people will gravitate towards you naturally.
29. Never ever quit
MLM networking is not for quitters. Quitting means that you’re not reaching out to people anymore, you’re not impacting, and you’re not talking to people. You need to get out there and hustle every day!
30. Use third-party credibility
If you’re the only presentation you have, you won’t go far. Use three-way calls and point to third-party tools that people can use to make their processes easier. People don’t believe they can do the presentation, that they can do what you’re doing. You need to point them to tools that make it possible for them to win big.
31. Master your calendar
You control your day. I can dictate your income just by looking at your calendar. And most of the people don’t have a calendar, which is precisely why their income isn’t very good. You need to leverage your time in the best possible way. You NEED to master your calendar to have success in MLM!
32. Focus on yourself
I was saving up the best for the last. Here’s the thing, guys. Too many people focus on others, on the external noise, on unimportant foolish things, and that’s the perfect recipe for disaster.
I want you to focus on yourself. Focus on growing yourself, educating yourself, making yourself more confident, being consistent and being persistent. Focus on yourself, and you’ll win long-term.

If you love emotional people (like myself), you might consider teachers, non-profit organization leaders, pastors or church leaders. Think about what careers would lend to a super-caring person. We use LinkedIn advanced search to find these amazing people all around the world.
If you like type-A personality – go get um – type of action, then anyone in sales is perfect for you. These people are very direct and you’ll need to have thick skin. You’ll want to pick a niche “inside sales”. If you build a team of these people, you’ll easily create fast momentum because they get stuff done quickly.
Sales is a huge category, so you need to understand to pick a category smaller like car sales. In fact, you may even go after a certain car make salesperson. If you want type A people but also like medical professionals, then medical sales reps are perfect for you.
If you like analytic folks like accountants, CPAs, mortgage professionals, then certainly go after them. One last final thought about the target market before we build your LinkedIn profile.
Take your traditional career into consideration. If you can recruit people that have been in your same field of work, that makes a lot of sense. Here is why.

As you can see, it certainly can be a phrase or a single word as well. It doesn’t have to be just one word.
You now want to put that phrase inside your name slot if you can. If it doesn’t look all weird. You can see above how I did it.
Obviously, the term you’ve selected to rank for, you’re going to want to put it inside of the headline or description. This is the 2nd place you need to have this keyword.
Next on your LinkedIn recruiting journey is your summary.
As weird as it sounds, the summary doesn’t matter too much with SEO. You will want to write it concentrating on them, your readers – the MLM prospects.
You want to let them know what you can do for them, why you’re the best in your field and why you’re ranked among top network marketers. Tell them how to connect with you.
In other words, what should they do if they want to connect with you? Does your LinkedIn profile make a compelling case of why your perfect prospect should stick around?

You want to fill this section completely. Everything you’ve done in the past, you want to fill this out.
This is the 3rd spot inside your LinkedIn profile that really matters. The title inside your job descriptions is another place that matters significantly. Why?
Because it greatly affects your SEO and rank inside LinkedIn. You’ll want to put your keyword in the title of any jobs that make sense to you.

Be consistent day in and day out whether you feel like it or not.

The 4th and final place where you will gain massive SEO or ranks in the search engine is how many connections you have.
On LinkedIn, you can connect with 30,000 people. If you do this correctly, you’ll be able to have 30,000 connections within your target market.
The person with the most targeted connections and MLM prospects wins on LinkedIn every time. This is one of the biggest reasons why I think LinkedIn is the best place to recruit new reps into your team. It’s simply that good!
Let’s go get some connections. Once again, you need to think about your target market.
You’re going to be searching for your target market…
So, a picture is worth a 1,000 words, right? You’ll see at the very top you’ll want to type the kind of person you’re looking for.
You type in “Real Estate Agent” or whatever your target market it. You can narrow that search on the right-hand side by selecting the location or certain keywords.
You’ll want to select “2nd connections”. This means LinkedIn connections that are connected to someone you’re connected to but not connected to you as of yet.
Then…
Just start clicking connect as that sends a connection invitation to them privately. I never send a personal message when I do this.
Simply that automated message that LinkedIn provides is plenty good enough. Now, we’ve connected with people – our MLM prospects.
Your goal should be to connect with around 100 people a day. One of the LinkedIn prospecting tips is, it will only take you about 15 minutes. That simple!
Now, we’ve got to connect to those who have accepted our connection every single day!
Select my network at the top and then click on “See all” on the left hand side.
This allows you to see all of your connections and is sorted by recently added at the top. You need to keep track of where you left off of the day before.
Then, I just send them a message to start engagement and mine looks like this:
I will then message everyone that is new to me and get a conversation going. LinkedIn recruiting is that easy. Extremely Simple!
Ask a peek interest question to see if they are open to looking at your network marketing opportunity.
Set a follow up date to answer any questions.

Let’s analyze this conversation from LinkedIn. It’s actually pretty simple. I’m always looking for an in or a way to build rapport like making a friend. Simply making a friend will cause you to create more new reps in your team than ever before.
Find a commonality and dig deep inside that item. The next phase is simple when recruiting on LinkedIn. You just ask if they’re open. Remembering that we’re on LinkedIn & LinkedIn is all about creating new opportunities. And this is what all top network marketers do successfully.
You simply ask if they’re open to more income and they will answer YES or NO. Most of the time if you build rapport correctly, you’ll find they’ll be open.
Then it’s off to simply ask for the phone number. Now, this is where most people get all wacko.
Don’t get all weird. If someone wants to make more money and you have an opportunity, you have to get on the phone to build rapport & show them your opportunity.

First of all, this network marketing objection is partly true. If we diagnose why you get this network marketing objection, it comes up because your prospects day is already filled.
Even if they are sitting on the couch eating bon-bons, their day is still filled. Your ability to get over this objection depends on your ability to show them they do have time.
John, so you’re saying if you could see that you had and extra hour in the day to work your business, you’d be all in? (Assume the close)
Typically, they will say yes to that question.
What hours do you work? What does your schedule look like?
My entire goal is to share with him where he can gather 5 – 10 per week to work his business with my help. As soon as I do that, I’ve overcame that objection.

I don’t have enough money to get started. Most of the time, this objection is a bold face lie. They have the money, it’s a priority battle. They are seeing your opportunity as a money spend, NOT as an investment in a business.
Just to clarify Betty, you simply don’t have $99 dollars in your bank account, is that correct?
Ask this follow-up question. You don’t have a credit card with $99 dollars of credit on it, correct?
Typically they will say, no, I do but… (you now know they have mislead you)
So, you really have the money, it’s a matter of prioritization, am I correct?
Betty will say YES.
You then need to diagnose what Betty is spending her money on instead of getting started.
I will ask, Betty, when will you have $99 available to get started so you never have this problem again?
She will tell me a date. So, if I call you on June 25th, you’ll have it for sure – correct?
Then you call her on that date to get her started.

He’ll give you numbers like 50 & 800 friends on Facebook. (averages)

I don’t want to bug my friends and family. This network marketing objection comes from a specific situation their friends have had. They believe network marketing is about bugging friends and family and drawing circles on the whiteboard.
See, this happens. If you want to be a network marketing professional, this objection is about knowing the importance of generating more leads. If you consistently do this, you’ll have a solution for this question.
I highly recommend the prospect to start out with their warm market because that is how they will make the most money fast. but if they don’t want to, I simply direct them to information that would allow them to talk to strangers & win in network marketing.

You can’t debunk this objection. You’ve got to figure out what they need to think about before you can go any further. This isn’t an objection but most of us fall into this very big trap.
This network marketing objection will trip you up if you are not careful. It’s actually not an objection. By definition, an objection will give you what you need to know to answer a question. I have to think about it will never give you the proper information.
This objection is by far the culprit of the most money lost of any of them. We have to diligently ask what they are needing to think about. This will help us out tremendously.
John, what exactly do you need to think about so I can get you over the proper information? BTW, if you’re trying to say no, it’s completely okay.
Give them a take-away and typically they will come back to you crawling.
Then John will tell you what you need to know enroll him or send information to him.
Send the appropriate information and ask him, when will you have reviewed the information for sure?
So, I can call you on January 24th and you would have reviewed the information for sure, correct?

Network Marketing Objections #6 – I’m Not A Salesman
I’m not a salesman. What an amazing network marketing objection that you can easily debunk. Like most objections, understand that this is coming from their experience. You should just ask a simple little question.
What about your experience today made you think that you needed to be a great salesman?
Remember, the way you bring people into your business is typically how hey will think they must bring people into the business. If you do things in your network marketing company in a non-salesy way, they won’t ask such questions.
I highly suggest using 3 way calls as much as you possibly can. This allows the prospect to see that network marketing is a team sport. Also, don’t be the presentation. If you present your network marketing business instead of using a tool.

This network marketing objection is laughable but the prospect just don’t know any better. Your prospect is going off of what they’ve heard in the past from friends and obviously has no solid facts.
What your job is, is to create posture & confidence. Don’t fight with a fighter, ever. A debate won’t win your anything in this network marketing objection. You simply want to ask a question.
When you ask questions of your prospect, it makes them understand how silly they seem.
What do you mean, scam? (making them answer usually leaves them speechless)
NEVER get defensive and explain why their work place is a scam.
Simply ask them the question and that will determine whether or not you want to cover this objection or let them go.
If you don’t want to work with them say, I don’t think this is a fit for you but I appreciate.
If you do, simply say, are you ready to get started and legitimately start making money today?

They may say, well one of those Amway things?
I’ll typically say, what is your experience in network marketing? Have you or a family member been involved in the past?
I want to hear their story and that will tell me…
Whether I want to work with them. Why they are telling me this. What I need to do or say to enroll them.

This typically is an objection BEFORE they see the video or say yes to an exposure. They are really saying, tell me why it’s worth my time to watch your video.
The real reason why most people get this objection is they didn’t set the stage. We failed to allow someone to know that we were busy. If we are actually busy, our prospect would never ask us silly questions like this.
This network marketing objections is really like saying, can you please tell me enough to tell you no. It’s really that simple. Your prospect needs to watch the video or your presentation.
I want you to listen to a multi-millionaire train on inviting. It will help you out significantly so you NEVER get this objection ever again!
You need to put it in a sexy line for them, that they can understand. Let’s assume they are a real estate agent.
I’ll say, it’s a way for you to generate wealth on a residual basis that won’t take up a ton of your time. Would that be worth 45 minutes of your time?
PLEASE don’t say… Would you be interested in a side project that doesn’t interfere? (it’s a lie. Their time is currently being taken up by something already.)

I have to ask my spouse. Let them. Never try to take this away from them. You want their spouse to be on board with them but you want their spouse to see it like they did.
I will never ever try to hard close someone on this network marketing objection. This is so wrong to do & there are trainers that are teaching this garbage. Instead, we want to set up another meeting also called BAMFAM & get both of them on the phone at the same time.
The fact is, you need to get both husband & wife in the same room so you can talk to them both. The husband isn’t going to explain properly to the wife himself. This is why it’s imperative to BAMFAM the to the next call together if you want to have mlm success.

The true question that your prospect is attempting to ask here is, how much money can I make in this company. They only ask you because you are on the phone talking to them. They are looking for validation.
Whether you make a lot of money or not, I highly suggest not answering this question if you like mlm success. You simply should simply re-ask the question back to the prospect & conduct a 3-way call. 3rd party credibility is so dang important.
I appreciate your question. Are you really asking how much money can be made in this XYZ company?
I thought so. I have a guy that I know a little bit. He’s an up & coming leader inside our company & poised to be making 7 figures soon. I don’t know if I can get him on the phone but if do you think you would benefit from a short conversation with him?

This network marketing objection takes on a different turn. Your prospect is simply trying validate that your network marketing opportunity is going to work for them.
This really isn’t an objection in network marketing. It’s more like a validation that your prospect can do it. You should never actually answer this question to the T.
A lot of times with network marketing objections, we should never answer the exact question. Instead, we should answer what the prospect is trying to ask but the words are not aligning for them. In this case, the prospect is asking if they can really do it.
Prospect : How long have you been doing it?
I’ve been here for 12 months but I think you’re really trying to ask how successful YOU can actually be, is that correct?
Prospect : Yeah
Here is something cool. I know a guy that has been in this company from the start. He’s an up & coming leader inside this company & incredibly successful.
If I’m able to snag 5 minutes of his time (he’s really busy) would you look forward to hearing from him so you can determine if this is a great fit for you?

I love this objection in network marketing because it’s a buying question. It’s not a network marketing objection to stump you. The translation in prospect language is, I really like it but I’d like to try the product first.
Prospect: I’d really like to try the products first
